Multiple or significant offences which cause one to lose a licence, or major crashes, are indicators of failure. The lessons from them can be salutary but not always so, or there would be no repeat offenders.
Perhaps being gaoled for assault is the only way one can learn respect for other people. Come to think of it, I may have missed my chance to embezzle a few million so that I understand finance better. The examples are endless.
P.S. I understand very well what you are trying to say. I think you are not correct though.
I'm not trying to imply i'm "correct" in any way shape or form because the whole thing really is a subjective matter of opinion.
