A friend of mine drives a Mitsubishi Galant, with the EVO motor in it. I know, not everyone's perfect. The other day while driving there was a husg bang under the hood and a shudder, which died down quite quickly. Now when he drives there is a constant shuddering under the hood which gets much worse above 3500rpm. The turbo still works fine and is perfectly straight. The exhaust and cat all seem to be ok as well. No smoke either. Someone mentioned something called a harmonic ballancer and the possibility that it jumped out of whack. Any ideas guys and girls? I told him that this forum's full of geniuses and we'd put oour thinking caps on.
