Sounds cheap to me Austen if its coming from the states. I just paid $327US to have 4x rotors and other little tidbits sent from the US.

300bucks damn! Guess I'll just man up and pay it then. Howcome you didn't choose to go for the locally available rotors?

The seller stated 35 pounds for both. I'll ask him about sending them seperately in a flat rate box, that looks to be a lot cheaper

There is a thread on here somewhere about importing brake components from various places in the US. From memory US post was pretty expensive, which is why I went to NZ for my Supra stuff. That was still pretty expensive, but closer to $70 for a pair of rotors posted to my door.

James - Auction stated 60 shipped to Australia, then I bidded, now get told 250. These aren't rotors, these are just the two front calipers. Surely they cant be 15kilos for two!

Because DBA Rotors are like what... $260 each (correct me on this someone cause I think i'm wrong but not far off) so ~ $1000 for DBA rotors local. I've purchased Stop-Tech cross drilled rotors at $129 US each, Stop-Tech are pretty much 1 of the leading brands in brake components in the US, by the time you add up 4x $129 + $327 shipping, I'm actually saving ~ $150 plus getting a better product. |

Also Austen, have you checked the offset of your rims to see if they will clear Supra 4 pots ??? and if you want some standard rotors to go with them, let me know, mine will be for sale shortly

These things must be a lot bigger than they look in pictures.. damn.. Ben - Yeah my rims came off a JZA80, and I *WAS* looking at getting stop-tech rotors too. I think i'll get something local though haha the shipping kills me man! What are the standard rotors like? Slotted and fancy or purely functional?

Sounds good mate, but won't be for at least a month until I get rotors and it also depends on how broke I am when I get em, I might be able to afford some of those wanky slotted and drilled ones haha

Austen, why not just refurbished calipers? search the brake section for the supra/celsior 4 pot thread, theres a link there. i wouldve bought supra brakes ages ago if my wheels cleared them. but now im just gonna save up for some sexy volks PS: nice collection of cars Miles

| Ali, because I won the auction for cheap haha, I'm having a good read through the brake section now. *oh crap moment*, just found out that not all JZA80's have the 4pot brakes so I'm thinking they might not clear my rims if they had come off a Supra with 2pot brakes. BAH!
Yeah I know it's dirty, been sitting there for a couple weeks. How does it look though? |

Nah Ali is right, I apologized to the seller and asked if it was cool if I just reimburse him the ebay fees. Hopefully he doesn't get too pissy. Ah well, the money can be spent on a shift kit or an LSD Then I'll probably buy the wrong centre hahah FML

lots of US guys use spaces, with longer studs. 10mm spacers on +45 wheels would be the same having +35 wheels

H&R make a quality bolt on spacer that, whilst still completely illegal for use on Australian roads, has TUV and other northern hemisphere certifications, allowing them to be used legally on the roads (in countries where those certification apply, eg. Germany) If you are willing to risk using them on Australian roads, they're a good bet. I used em on my w126 and didnt suffer any vibration or harmonics, for a couple of years. Tramlining was noticeable at times, but probably due to the 285's replacing the 215 oem width tyres. Floating spacers are no good, and the minimum hubcentric bolt on type is 15mm I think.

Wow 285's on the front? That would look awesome! And yeah it was the insurance thing that was a killer for me, I'd rather do it the right way.
