VE HSV for the bogan vote. OOHHH - Fg XR6 turbo or G6E Turbo. Good cars apparrently. Depreciation is a killer though. I was looking at the same price range for a new daily, so will watch this thread with interst. R32 Golf. EVO? WRX? Previous shape liberty gt turbo - and MUCH prettier than the new one! Still, any of these haven't got my blood pumping enough to buy one. Cracked a fat at a black late model soarer though!

Yeah, the EVO is good value, but the OP is after a big sedan, not a lancer.

If your after performance and luxury the G6E Turbo would be my choice, sure resale value is poor but that just means that you can save about 20K buying a used one.

2nd choice would be the Aurion ZR6 still very good performance, good servicing costs, reliable & good resale.

I hate buying new cars especially cars over 35K as they tend drop 10K as soon as your out of the dealership but I guess its not that important if you plan on keeping the car for a long time.

talking about the resale, they are no worse than most other cars

i was looking at trd aurion and they are just as bad if not worse on the resale, and i like the aurion but in comparison well they dont compare

If you are buying new, buy Aussie built. Falcon XR6T are nice and quick, good bang for your buck for a large sedan. I think Australian cars are very competitive in the large sedan market and it supports the economy to keep jobs here.

why waste money on a new aussie built car when you can just by the same car 18 months down the track for half the price?

Your comments and experience are worth....

In the following thread your comments regarding an Aurion were fairly certainly related to tyres and had nothing to do with the car which is dam good.

Somewhere on the ATO there is a car depreciation guide in % terms. For many years the lowest has been Toyota Landcruiser followed by a corolla and the highest has been the any and all Ford Falcons other than a pov pack.

I haven't checked it recently but I find it hard to believe a trend that was consitent for 25 years to suddenly change.

How large of a car are we talking?

I'd luuuuuuuuurve to have an R36 Passat but only in the form of a wagon lol

I'd say stick with something like the Aurion ZR6 or Presara. They're big and comfy, enough power to boot and should be easy on the wallet.

XR6T = the VL turbo of tomorrow!

Nice choice though, good to see you are getting in on one now before the centrelink bogans get their hands on too many of them :-)
