Mate any engine can be made to fit into nearly anything.
Don't see why you would ever bother with late model toyota engines. It'll never run to its full potential unless the swap is done with a full loom, or a competent aftermarket standalone wire up and tune.

mmm 5.0l v8 producing 420hp which would cost a good part of 50k to set up..or..slap a turbo/supercharger on a built 1uz...set you back 15-20k with 800hp+?

Mmmm as I thought big dollars involved, well to be honest I'm actually going to be coming across with some extra funds so I'm looking at (poor) investment into the Soarer.
Now personally I've done very minor tuning, but would it be crazy of me (me thinks it is already) to expect 285-300kw@w obviously leaning towards a supercharger (gotta love that sound)
So at the moment the game plan is to get the interior redone first, bare metal respray (not sure of the colour maybe stick to peal white) and a nice set of 19". So far I'm estimating that to set me back 8-10k.
So questions to the goo roos how much would I be looking at engine dollar wise to get that amount of power to the wheels? Or should I just save and buy a fpv lol
Just like to say if you got the cash, do whatever you like as it's your car, no matter what others think. I mean if you really are serious on making a project out of it, then why not?

Yeah, its definitely not an "investment" in anything other than personal satisfaction. If you've got the money to waste and won't miss it, go for it - just remember you won't ever get much of it back when its time to sell and move on.

Lol mike I checked out the V12. You mentioned mate that would sound absolutely wild, found a clip on YouTube with some top secret supra running that engine. A V12 Soarer, only if it didn't weigh a mega load it'll give the lower end exotics a run for their money.
Cheers for your thoughts fellas, I'll have to sit down and think this through but a super charged v8 sounds like a possible pipeline plan.

Entirely worth the effort!!!
Heh, I meant translpanting a 5L engine for 3 times the price of a blower was not worth the effort, letting Neil loose on an engine is entirely worth it

Hardly. That V12 wasn't built for balls out power.
The one in the top secret Supra was, but as standard, it wouldn't even crack 200rwkw
The 1GZ-FE is a 5.0 L (4996 cc) V12 48-valve DOHC engine with variable valve timing (VVT-i). Bore is 81 mm and stroke is 80.8 mm, with a compression ratio of 10.5:1. Output is 280 hp (210 kW) at 5200 rpm with 355 lb·ft (481 N·m) of torque at 4000 rpm. The fuel system is a EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection) system controlled by two ECUs (one for each bank of cylinders).

Theres a dyno of a V12 Century on YT.
182rwkw apparently.
Pretty good I thought, would go well in a Soarer. I am sure there is more to be had out of them. Though, low 200's if kept NA. My mechanic had a look at one he imported, heads ports are more narrow than the 1uzfes ones!

Have you heard the ISF V10 AT 9000 RPM!!its a detuned Toyota f1 ENGINE
The IS-F engine is a 2UR-GSE V8, not a V10, and it produces maximum power at around 6,600RPM - not sure what the redline would be, but I doubt it would get to 9000. Maybe you were thinking of the LFA engine?
Current Formula 1 cars use small V8's - 2.4 litres currently. They produce almost no power at all under 5000 RPM, and typically produce maximum power at around 15,000-20,000RPM.
