I met this guy once and I must say it's a pretty good looking beast of a thing! Said he has to sell it because of his gf. Price is negotiable and it's worth a look I tells ya! W58 box http://www.carpoint.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?Cr=0&R=9355087&keywords=&trecs=74&__sid=127 924232081

Nah my car is being put in next month with a W58 so I'm not after this. I'm just putting it up for others who may have an interest

Why R154? If I only intend the box for driver involvement and power no more than say 200rwkw then the W58 should do wonders

w58 is ment to be the better shifting box compared to the r154 anyway. 20k maybe a bit too much. 12-14k max

I'd be a bit more generous and say $16k max No matter how much work you do to a Soarer, they are never going to be worth a lot.

Heh yeah, a little over 12k. That is a rip off as far as I am concerned, a big body kit and 5 spoke wheels don't instantly add $10,000 on to it, and a manual gearbox conversion is only worth 2-3k. I doubt its done 69,000ks too.... Plus I get the impression that the exhaust would sound like crap and need replacing with a superior system. My advise, don't buy that! |

No pics of the interior or engine bay, I always get suspicious when it's like that. I would say 10-12k, it's a 1991 model with bugger all mods.

20k for a manual 850i or 840ci would be realistic though. For a soarer... no way!

Actually just find me a manual 840/850i in aus. It was easier for me to find 97 uzz31 in black/black then the above.

For a crappy 290,000km broken manual E31 I meant! At least 40-50k for a tidy one, specifically the 850 CSI Most auto V8 and V12s go from 15-30k here now.

Thats cheap man, I struggle to find any under 20k here. I believe manuals are extremely rare (more so then a soarer) and as a result command riduclous prices. Ive never in my years of searching found a manual for sale yet (in Aus)

The V8s and V12s are poor performers when you compare to a TT

Yeah they are pretty slow. You get a lot with the whole package though, but for that money you can go much faster with less things to go wrong... Though in recent times here, this 850i sold for just under 12k through a repo company http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Cars/BMW/auction-309460353.htm Looked pretty good to me! A few grand spent on it and you would have you're self a cool car that could be beaten by a new camry.

Brother dragged an 850i. Wiped the floor clean with it, no competition :p but they are very, very pretty cars.. but when you tell the bitches you have a v12 they go "oooooh" tell them you have a turbo soarer and they'll go "is that a skyline ?"

12-13k, you have to remember how much the v8 soarers have tanked in price.
