Any Soarer guys making the trip out here to Bathurst this year? Be wary, there is a lot of highway patrol presence this year! I must have seen 10 people pulled over just today!

The TV coverage is so rubbish up here I am considering driving down tomorrow to find a channel that broad casts the lot. Channel 7, 10 and 1HD all have the indian games thing. Channel 7 keep saying that all their normal programming is on 7two, but that is a lie. They also made a big song and dance about how good they are at bathurst but I just don't see it up here. The first bathurst coverage we get is the top ten shootout. When ten had it last time I lived up here I watched everything from lunch time friday onwards.

A bit late for us to organise one this year but if we can get enough people interested maybe next year as a Soarer Central Event we could try to organise for a soarer contingent to be at the mountain, It would be an awesome road trip.

Wish I had read this before I went up... Got pulled over at 131km/h in a 100 zone between Lithgow and Bathurst. Thankfully the cop was a descent type and reduced the fine to <10km/h over (1 point demerit and $90 fine). I then got pulled over in Bathurst for an RBT and had the Channel 9 crew film the whole thing so look out for a white Soarer on this week's RBT show (8:00pm Friday). No, I hadn't been drinking .
It was kind of a last minute decision to go up there as I finished work at 5pm Saturday, hit the road at 6:30pm from Newcastle and arrived at Mt Panorama just before 11:00pm that night... Lucky a mate was already up there with the tent set up at McPhillamy Park. Drove home at the end of the race on Sunday night and back to work Monday morning... so, yeah a bit of a mission.

Wouldn't you get bogun lynch mobbed rolling up to the mountain in a Toyota?
Thats what I expected too, but the crowd is becoming more family oriented these days. I've been up for the race the last 5 years and every year there are more and more police there. This year they even had gaming rooms set up for the kids to keep them occupied.
