I'm with you Ben - there was a guy driving a Forrester up and down, up and down the road outside my work last week making as much noise as he could with his stupid BOV - this on a street with a lot of young kids and babies around.
I was walking back from the gym when he stopped at the traffic lights as I was crossing the road - visions of pulling him out of the drivers seat and pummelling his head in with his intercooler piping went through my head.

Haha. I'd give you a hand there Matt!
I positivitely despise 90% of the cars on our roads with audible blow off valves and wastegates, they are really uninteresting sounds.
A 'friend' of mine has Mitsubishi EV0 II, it was in original tidy condition upon purchase (rare) recently he has just fitted a BOV and custom externally vented wastegate to the car, all I can say is he has ruined it already.... Sounds like a machine from the farm, but somehow he thinks it's awesome. Idiotic!
I've never seen the appeal of those cars (Evos/Wrxs etc), they look like a grandma cars fitted with a a few sporty bits, have a horrible sounding 4 cylinders, generally cheap in the way they're built/parts used, unsafe and well, just have no finesse about them.... They might go fast, but a balance is required across the car. I'd rather have a slow car that sounds nice, is comfortable and has a bit of style to it, which my 325i seems to do for me at the moment, It's probably as fast as my Celsior was in a straight line, but it's just so enjoyable to drive, especially with the nice hum from the Remus/M3 exhaust I fitted. However..... once the 1UZFE is in, a few cosmetic issues are addressed inside and out, it shall be a brilliant package with an even better sound, some pace in a straight line and be even more reliable.
