I Put this thread here just out of interest and if it's a useless one then Peter can delete it.
When cleaning my interior last week i was looking at the speedo digits and can see no room for a '2' in the hundreds column, and the max speed- by the looks of the speedo is 199. I have only got my car to 180km/h and i was wondering if those who have taken the limiter off have gotten their space shuttle past the 180 or even got to the 200km/h mark and it's shown on their speedo? |

you are correct. to display past 199 you need another gauge. |

nope stays at 180
I have my top speed cut removed with a mines ecu and the speedo is programmed only to display 180 as the highest digit so you can go past it but won't know what speed your actually doing unless you have a apexi rsm or run beside a friend with car with a higher clock on it
got to about 230kph beside my friends f6 |

Guy is spot on. Speedo stops at 180, and RSM keeps climbing (and has a peak recall function as well so you don't have to watch the speedo to see how fast you went- on your track) |

I got a apexi RSM got up to 250kmp/h on the rolling road at a mates work shop. Very handy little piece of kit with all the info you could possible want displayed on screen or peaks recorded for later investigation. |

here is a pick of the same speed testing unfortunately I buttoned off the gas and there was a huge delay in my cellphone camera but still evidence of speed well in excess of 200kmp/h

Or you could just go by rpm per speed and convert that, When i did circuit stuff in my supra i would disconnect the speedo cable, means i dont have speedcut and just use the tacho to say how fast i was going 5krpm = 210kmph type thing, depending on your gearing. I think on z20's they go up to 199 then start from 0 again so 280 reads 80.. You have to solder two connectors on the back of the dash though.. |

Not sure but it basically tells you everything. Speed, meaning of life etc. Daniels pic above is the series 2
