5 Years ago I used to drive a lot around and across Melbourne. The driving standard was very bad back then and from the looks of this video is certainly isn't getting any better.
Perhaps the government should install more cameras and Ken Lay have another blitz on imports and hoon drivers......
My thoughts are we need better education particularly about respect for other road users and the limitation of some vehicles such as trucks, compulsary licence retesting for all drivers when there licence is reissued ie every 10 years, combined with a better practical test which includes a separate brake and avoidence skid pan test with driver aids such as ESP and ABS turned off.

full comp insurance does not matter, I'm willing to risk my car if its my fault, 3rd party should be compulsory so if you damage another persons property they are covered, but if you get hit by an unlicensed driver your still screwed!

It does, I would not have anything but full comp and agreed value.
I am aware of quite a few people that have been screwed over when they had 3rd party insurance even when the accident wasn't there fault. Or alternatively a hit and run where the at fault driver cannot be named.

Narvey, I didn't make that video and I don't drive trucks.
I saw the video on youtube and it reminded me of what I used to drive through for 2.5hrs every day. As per my above post it looks like nothing has changed dispite the police crack down with more speed cameras, hoon's act ect.

80% of that video is a bunch of people overtaking him coz hes a truck thats going too slow.
Pure impatience, I get that a lot in my Slowlux, people get a bit of shock when I'm actually able to get the old girl moving and have a close encounter of the bull bar kind.
I still think Perth drivers take the cake. Incompetence, impatience and indecisiveness make for a very bad combination. The amount of times I've almost needed two feet on the brakes to pull the old girl up is ridiculous.
I'm finding the same thing on my push bike, broke an axle the other day avoiding a car. Idiots.

Yes they are overtaking, But they are ment to do it in a safe manner, not at the last min when the road merges into two lanes and cutting a 63 tone vehicle off. You need to give heavy vehicles a good distance for safe stopping

Are you driving for Linfox Damian? Notice you are in out of that b-double freindly neighbourhood known as Abbotsford/richmond
No mate I don't drive a truck and I didn't make that video. I used to drive those streets regularly though for work (in a car) and saw terrible driving similar to what is in the video on a daily basis.
