just wondering if anyone has seen any of the zeitgeists? a mate told me about it recently and i watched their newest one "moving forward". in moving forward it really opened my eyes to society and how we live as humans today.
Yes, a good friend at work did tell me about the Venus Project, then later eventuated a discussion about the Zeitgeist Movement. I have tiredly watched Moving Forward, the first 30 minutes didn't sink in. However, the rest of the movie sure was eye opening. I was astounded that this really can be done! We have the technology, why not do it? This present way of life people are forced upon to live is quite pathetic. Having to work is such a burden. I never knew we had 3D printing today, unreal!

Isn't this just another form of socialism? I'm afraid that doesn't work either... sure capitalism is rooted because of human greed, but socialism doesn't work because it removes incentives and promotes anger in those who are expected to bare the burden of social dead wood.
The only real solution is strong leadership able to implement population control and make the many other tough decisions required without worrying about their careers - tough to achieve.
Have to say that I have a horrible feeling these people have a hidden agenda. Using clips from famous scientists out of context like that - well Carl Sagan would have agreed with the need for change, but not perhaps the mechanism proposed here.
As for allowing machines to make decisions - well we are a long, long way from having anything like that kind of technology - when/if we do, it'll pretty much be singularity time anyway. Game over humanity.

Yeah if your eyes are 'opened' after watching this crap then you are a f*cking idiot. I did watch the whole thing in the hope of finding something worthy of further thought, but the misquotes, inaccuracies and failure to cite references other than 'our own research' makes the 'documentary' a fictional rant at best.
That said I often refer people who ask retarded questions to 'docos' such as these as it avoids a long winded negative discussion. Try it on that fruity idiot at work who had a sheltered upbringing at a good school, or on that annoying know it all relative. It'll get em off your back until they come back all enlightened and sh1t. Then you can tear em to bits about how retreaded they are.
