| Had some one reverse their tow bar straight into my car today, no idea who did it, but i'm left with a large dent in my rear quarter panel. they left no note, just drove away. I had only just got the 200,000km service and new rims (rims literally went on less then 24 hours ago)

| Unfortunately far too many of us have experienced the same thing. These people clearly must be OK if it happened to them. After having a similar thing happen, I invented a protection device for car park dings. You know, the door opener syndrome. I have even had my car service people put a mark on my bumper and deny it. Anyway, that doesn't help you, just letting you know I feel your pain. |

| Yeah i know Mike, Thanks for the input. Just after spending around $2500 on it. Last thing i needed was to have to get this fixed. Anyone know roughly how much it would cost to have pulled out? |

| You could probably pop some of it out to make it look a little less noticeable. If you take it to a panel beater then you'r looking at $400 to $500. |

| Very unlucky mate. I had my drivers side quater-panel resprayed last year, and less than one week later I did this to my car. I was so so cross with myself
6 months later it now looks like this. Waiting for the 97 front, getting insurance to assess the car and waiting for it to be installed took ages.
Whenever I visit a carpark, I will if at all possible avoid other cars and park way down the back. Thankfully, due to me having bugger all cash at the moment, and wanting to keep the K's down, my car spends lots of it's time in the garage. |

| Cheers for the posts guys. That's a nasty dent you got there Allan. I think i remember reading up on that, an old person hit you at an intersection i believe? glad you got it sorted mate. James how did you manage that one on your front bar? It doesn't look too nasty in the photos but still a shame on a rather nice car, Also, do you have any video's of your exhaust setup? wouldn't mind hearing it as i believe i read you have Rush extractors. David, couldn't agree more with you! sure i get them not waiting around, but leave a note and contact details. ahh well. The repair is coming out of my pocket as i only have third party fire and theft. Hopefully it wont cost too much. Guess now is the time to sell my old car parts. |

| $600 eh? Money that could have gone on a nice exhaust setup I shouldn't have been driving at the time, I was dead tired and just nudged a 4wd with a rear bullbar at less than walking pace. I was surprised because for such slow speeds the damage was substantial. I ruined my hydraulic fan fluid cooler, plus it bent the support bars behind the front end. There was a big gap between the side panel and the bonnet, smashed headlight too. Anyway, yes videos of my exhaust setup. Need to get some outside the car. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKV78uyoLT4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9qI0y-T-lo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KiYz0TXDr3k |

| Ahh that sucks dude, i know how driving and being tired don't mix. worked 16 hours yesterday was awake 28 hours, the drive home from work, was a little scary. oo that exhaust setup does sound very nice! If money ever permits it, i may invest in a new exhaust. Given mine is stock |

| David, check your neighbours cars for a square towbar mount with no goose neck. That dent looks like the end of the square tubing where the neck slots in. Good luck mate. |

| Yeah i thought the same thing Peter. neither side has a towbar with a square mount, Also i do believe it happened when the car was in for a wheel alignment. Ah well not much i can do about it other then just get it fixed. |

Some years ago, my wife worked at a chemist, car sat in carpark all day, someone (probably a LandCruiser full of types from "the bush", if you get my drift, then again might have been dozy "grey nomads"), must have opened their door, rested the corner against our car, then proceeded to unload the vehicle, making a deep wriggly vertical scratch down to bare metal. Thankfully it wasn't a Soarer I do feel David's, et al, pain. The perpetrators probably had high excess, or no insurance. |

| Well got the car back from the panel beaters. They did an impressive job (as usual as i had them respray a bonnet on my old suzuki swift as the clear coat had lifted and the paint had started to change colours). Here's a few pictures of how it looks now.

| I had a pretty intense dent in my rear corner panel. I pulled the boot lining, climbed in and kicked the dent out. I was slightly hesitant, but I figured I couldn't have made it any worse than it already was |

| Good to see it all fixed David! Looks like it never even happened. My little story - a few weeks after I resprayed my car I went to the local Westfields and found a decent parking spot on the outside, near those big beams of concrete. Now I always try and leave as much room for the other car so they have enough room to open their door, etc. So I left this fairly large gap for the P.O.S. oldish car next to me and parked as close to the concrete beam as possible. When I got back to my car, the P.O.S. car next to me had gone, and lo and behold, the wanker took a nice chip out of my brand new paint when they swung their door open without any consideration for my car whatsoever. The thought of the incident still makes me angry to this very day. |

| Daniel, i had it repaired by a guy in kerta road Kincumber, he does amazing work, cost $600 all up to fix. Damn Vinh! some people are feral! just because they don't give a damn about their stuff they should at least respect others. On an unrelated note, back when i was car hunting for a soarer i almost bought your blue one you had for sale Vinh, though i think it had water damage? |

| Yeah it did have water damage David. My dad stupidly drove through a "puddle" during one of those wet winters. Spent about $5,000 repairing it excluding the cost of a new engine at Niall's. In the end my dad managed to sell it to one of his friends. Good times |

| Yeah them puddles can be tricky... never know how deep they are. I had given you a call about it but didn't get through. shame, it looked nice. Worked out for the best though, My gold car is a nice colour, don't see to many of them around. Also it still has the airbag suspension that's fully functional. |

| You were probably better off as I didn't really look after this car so I don't know how it was treated - I gave it to my dad when I got my TT. I sure miss it though! You simply cannot beat the luxury a UZZ31 offers for their price these days. |
