remembering the original comments (bearing in mind I saw this for the first time more than a year ago- maybe two) he had new wheel nuts and there was a misunderstanding between 12mm (common on a lot of Japanese cars) and 1/2inch (12.7mm- used in the US domestic market).
They went on alright with the rattle gun, but were cross threaded or whatever. As soon as he loaded them up trying to drift sideways the loads stripped the threads and they failed. Very spectacularly.
I mean seriously, what are the chances of all of them failing at the same time for any other reason? At the same time. Simultaneously. Even if none of the nuts were done up, one of the wheels would have wobbled itself loose before the others.
