I have the oppertunity to do a deal with a vehicle I have for sale, but it includes trading an R32 Skyline.
Are they an easy salable item? I dont really want one, but need to move the other vehicle, and would get some cash my way as well.

ok i would say look into it cause it sound fishy a skyline is a great car to own. But on the other side u don't know if he wants to trade it. Cause if its stuffed your going to know about it and skylines are not a happy car to have when they cost you money lol

I don't think a 4 door auto R32 would be easy to unload would it?

What engine is it running?

If it is a R32 4 door then it will be a GTS-T or GTS but I don't think they made a GT4 4 door. GTR was only ever made as a coupe and has a RB26DETT - 2.6L twin turbo and 4WD. GTS - 4 door or coupe with a RB20DE - 2L non-turbo. GTS-T again 4 door or coupe but with a RB20DET - 2L turbo. GTS4 pretty sure was only made as a coupe with a RB20DET and 4WD - what some people do or have done is made a fake GTR and got a RB26 along with the GTS4 and combined the two.

With the GTS how ever it depends on the year of production as the early models were only a RB20E.

Also you have a GTS25 - 4 door or coupe with a RB25DE - 2.5L non turbo but not too many were produced as they were towards the end of the production of the R32 model.

Don't quote me here as I could be wrong but I believe that it is reasonably true.

yeah sounds like a GTS-4 to me as well....I would think that being a 4 door sedan though will be harder to sell later on down the track then a 2 door coupe..as there not as popular, but saying that if thats what you want its worth a look :-)

Will have a look at it on the weekend.
Its a 2ltr 6cyl auto, I know that much. Supposibly
has AWD.
Its not that I want one, but could be a means of selling my 4x4, and getting some cash as well.
4 doors would be handy, easier to get in than Soarer.

A friend of mine has one of these but manual.Would be a rb20de or rd20det.They do have a awd system like the gtr.(Like my stagea you can convert to rwd by pulling the awd fuse or removing the front drive shafts)
There fun in the wet in rwd!But not much poke in the dry.

Just note that every R32 is in need of a lot of repair. They are easy to unload onto skyline fanboys buying their first car, but youd be hard pressed to find anyone with brains buying one that isnt mint. I mean they are really run down, even the 'fresh' ones arriving from JP.

Sounds like a boostcruising deal to me...Id walk away. I mean if this R32 has a value of 'x' then why the f8ck hasn't he sold it already for 'x' cash and passed the cash onto you? Because said R32 is only worth 'y', not the amount he is trading it to you for.

Nah, cracked door trims, faded paint, worn leather, and dirty steering wheels are the toyota types.

Cracked cylinder heads, oil leaks, gearboxes, internals, wiring looms, CAS, and such are the R32 equivalents. Anything 20 years old is in need of repair, but from experience, having owned a couple of R32 skylines, they are in much worse condition than the equivalent toyota. Not trying to make a point of toyota>nissan, just trying to save you some anguish when you go to sell.

Good luck with it, you never know, it might be a minter.

Skyline electrics are horrid in comparison to toyota items. R32 GTR's require a couple of spare cars to keep going.

Nissan specify there electrics to last 11 years. As a comparison Toyota used to specify 20 years but reduced that to 15 at some stage in the 90's.

Thanks for the feedback fellas. Havent had a chance to look at it, but probably wont do anything.
Would prefer to sell my 4x4 without trading.
Although, anything of interest will be looked at
