Congratulations to Gregg Holden who has had his Soarer featured in the latest edition of HPI. Gregg has been on this forum for as long as I can remember, and organised the building of some custom parts/ group buys some time ago. ( I still have what I reckon is the best, most functional boss kit for factory cruise controls ever made)

There is a very long thread on it here somewhere. Search for "boss kit that supports cruise control"or something like that. They were machined out of a billet of aluminium, and the factory cruise control stalk mounts to it.

I have had probably close to twenty enquiries about buying one. Unless someone else decides to machine up some new ones, they are like oil, no more are being made and when they are gone, they are gone. You could sell it easily enough should you choose to.

The latest one, issue 144, he has a 5 page spread down the back starting on page 77. Tai- Issue 143...guess it is true what the NSW guys say about you Queenslanders: you are 20 years and 1 hour behind in summer, LOL. Pays to subscribe I guess.

That Soarer, the bonnet or where the nose meets, it just doensn't like right. I'm not talking about the grille, that is a novel idea.

It used to be called HPI. Same mag, just changed the name. Website is still HPI. Perhaps the cars are no longer high performance, just performance. Whatever...

Well I only just found out today that it was in this issue (thanks to a little bird telling me in my big no news announcement!!)...LOL! Anyway thanks Ben and Joshua for the kind words. Darren you are spot on mate. The bonnet has a slight warp on that side which was caused by the painters after they swapped on the c/f bonnet and then put back on the original bonnet air struts. I went to pick up the car and both sides of the bonnet about half a foot from the windscreen was raised almost half an inch! It was unbelievable that they didn't think about the effect the struts would have. Anyway, got them off straight away and for some reason one side settled but the other didn't. As luck would have it when the shoot was done I had forgotten about it and the photographer happened to take every angle of the car with that side showing! So it looks I agree. I've been putting two tyres on it an leaving it in the heat and it seems to be dropping slowly back into shape. Such a shame because the fitment was perfect originally. Cheers (and sorry for my useless late announcement in the other thread!)
