Im sure theres a few members like me that have a few different cars in the build or even some that have been finished

any how this is my non Soarer build

Its a 1981 Mitsubishi Sigma SE, it was bought as a parts car but was to good to wreck

first set of mods were an SC14 supercharger on the std engine and a respray, then it kind of got out of hand from there

Everything is done by me in my shed including the shortened diff

It was in a zoom mag a few months back

all stock

painted and sc14

engine, trans, diff and brake conversion plus engineers report pic was taken a week before rego

engine was a stock 302 clevo with an fmx auto and an EF XR6 falcon diff

Its now a 351 with custom EFI, coil near plug and an lt16 microtech, engine is currently undergoing a rebuild + more mods

Im past the half way mark financing my SL-C project. Since the Australian dustributor got the arse, Ive had to find another party willing to bring one in. He's a kiwi, but he can steer. Hes also a mechanic, so Im set!!

Basically we're ordering 2 kits, 2 Ricardo six speeds, and 2 LS9 engines straight out of Wixom in crates, via Lingenfelter, and onto Superlite cars in Michigan. Containered, and on to Darwin.

www.superlitecars.com

If the Aussie distributor was still around, Id be able to buy it in stages, the rolling chassis being about $40k

Id like to be finished and road registered (a lot easier in Darwin) for under $120k

The pros are logging 200-230 build hours. Ill be happy with 700-800 ;)

My current project list is a bit too long.
Few issues to iron out with my hayabusa before I do a little cam upgrade to have something I can call finished (right after I re-paint it).
Doing a 4G63T twin cam transplant into a mate's starion, also have a starion of my own to build.
There's also a RZ supra awaiting a rebuild and a sick soarer sitting in the corner awaiting attention.
Also I need to sort out some gremlin's with my wife's bike and tidy up the turbo setup in her soarer.
I also need a less demanding job so I can get some of this stuff finished!

For some reason I got bored with my soarers, got a BMW and put a 1UZFE into it.

90% finished at the moment, few bumpers to paint, little details to address, but runs very well with plenty of potential.

Yeah, got them off a mates E46 for a cheap price

Getting kinda bored with it though, maybe I'm just hard to please. But Ill still end up spending more money on it, it's just that it leaves little funds for my other projects at the moment.

Still need to make a new gearbox cross member after I've fitted the 3rd set of engine brackets, just to perfect the engine position, hehe.

That looks factory! Great work Mike!

Ali, My wife wants the new 86 so bad.. But no turbo!! WTF? The TRD version "might" be supercharged, but the STI subaru version will be so much better (if it comes to aus)

This is my new project..

So far I have done the exhaust, sliders, bobins and got TuneECU and cable to play around. EVO2 kit is on the way which does an intake mod, battery relocate and cam..

All of which is pushing back my soarer mods :-)

But it's just so much damn fun to ride!

Yeah it's actually a rather good fit, not that tight really either, the narrow 1UZ 'FE' heads certainly help, unlike the BMW V8s, heck.. now they would be a tight fit!

Cheers Tai, it's certainly the look I was going for, all black & steel fittings, just to keep it as original looking as possible.

Some pics of the Superlite Coupe from US builders:

This is a first generation rear end. Though the cars havenbt changed per se, there have been constant additions and revisions, mostly functional.

This is the current revision 'street clip'

This guy didnt think the factory 315 tyres were gonna hold him down, so he widebodied the entire rear clip to suit those 15" wide rims with god knows what rubber....

The green one is full race version car. Fitted with a STOCK LS3 engine, it debuted in the Super Unlimited class in National Auto Sport Association.

The result was pole position qualifying, championship winner, lap record and lead the entire race. So theres your pedigree. Thats important to some people :-)

Impressive.

Would be interesting to see one of those feature on Top Gear, by comparison to many of the other high end 'shed' cars they test out...

Finally, after over 2 years of wanting to get to this stage on my non soarer project it's nearly complete.

I checked it out today at the panel shop. Taking shape nicely!!

A true dual RS4 exhaust on the E36 1UZ coupe...

Custom ribbed floor yet to go in.

Should sound like my old V8 soarer did with the RS4 mufflers. Most excited to get behind the wheel with that sound!

Mine's a 1958 Ford Customline (Star model)
It's taking ages but getting there.
Body off chassis rebuild with new floor pans and sills.
I rebuilt the 272 Y Block engine and 2/3 speed transmission. Most people think these were 2 speed autos, but they were really 3 speed but always started off in 2nd gear so getting them to use 1st gear involved a lot of footwork.
I have started the new engine but not driven it or tested the transmission yet as still no wheel under her.
I am retaining the drum brakes but have sourced a dual system booster, and electric wiper motor.
The transmission was a bit of a fiddle to rebuild with buggar all parts available. The original clutch packs used domed bronze friction plates which were worn away. I have rebuilt the packs with flat fibre friction plates and oversize steel plates to reset the original clearances and will be running a different transmission oil to compensate.
I am at the stage of rewiring it now but it is getting too cold in the garage to go near it, so I estimate another year before she's on the road
