Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone knows who I can get in contact with to discuss getting an engineering certificate for a modified vehicle in South Australia. From what I've read I have to really travel interstate, is this correct? is there anyone people have dealt with? Thanks!

Not sure about in SA but here in Qld I just did a google search for vehicle compliance and got onto a mobile guy who came out and did an inspection and mod-plated my manual conversion. Try the website for Main Roads or Dept of transport, or whatever the SA equivalent is as they should be able to direct you to certified modification inspectors too.

When I sold my Soarer into SA the new owner had to remove what I thought was the original window tinting that had been on the car since it was registered in NSW 8 years before.
Gary, its rediculous isn't it! My daily driver got defected for a blown rear globe and loose wiring in the engine bay! So scared to do anything to my cars anymore.

Peter, I got defected a few weeks ago in my Corolla! What a surprise. He didn't give me a fine but everytime I spoke he would add "I can give you another fine if you would like". Oh and its a Regency defect! Sick and tired of it!

Also I still want to slap Mike Rann with a rolled up magazine! To top it off, he gets $200,000 pa for the remainder of his life for doing nothing!!! And how the heck does Julia Gillard earn more than Obama!! System is backwards.
