I got my talking Boony in the mail, and want to know if anybody knows how it will work technically (ie respond to a specific frequency or frequencies or an audible sound pattern). I've already read all the stuff on the official websites and that doesn't tell me much.

Yeah Paul I read that... just having a discussion at work with the rest of the engineers trying to figure out the technical stuff before we actually see/hear it work.

Dan I think you will be proven to be correct. We figured it had to be audible as TV speakers would vary considerably in frequency ranges that are possible. Based on this assumption we then wanted to know if it will respond to a pattern of sharp noises like clicks/claps or something frequency specific.

yeah thats gona be interesting, coz speakers only can produce certain frequencies and if u got an older tv set or whatever it might not work, think the human ear cant hear higher than 10KH or something like that not sure.

Talking Boony is a dud. So much for him being interactive. He obviously has a timer in him as he speaks 26 minutes before every ODI telecast is about to start, and then a somewhat random intervals during the telecast. He managed to speak during 3 advertisements in a row the other day, and he's only instantly responded twice to those beeps that sound when the VB logo flashes up. As for intelligent things... I hardly classify 'Better get a VB, the crickets about to start', 'anyone seen me thongs?' or something about totem tennis as intelligent.
