Word on the street is that even though they have heaps of know how and have quad cams, they both are struggling to make the horsepower that the current V8's make! |

I have heard the same Tai. I know with merc that they are not able to use currently developed motorsport engines, and are basically starting over, as it has to be a 5.0L. Or so I have been lead to believe. |

Well we will have to wait and see ,but with Mercedes AMG F1 know how and Nissans past it will be better to watch.Just hope they dont get banned (again) |

Push rod engine with a carb and R/W/D all looks old hat? not really a Camry ! , but even more boring than V8 super cars.

I expect it might take a season or two, but if Nissan want to, they will probably crush the American engineered stuff eventually. Then they will get bogun-banned again. |

The Nissan's will be "Powered by a bespoke 5.0 litre version of Nissan’s quad-cam VK56DE engine" [speedcafe.com], which is the 2013 Nissan Patrol V8.
The Mercedes engine is "Based on the 6.3 litre M159 engine seen in the company’s SLS GT3 cars, a 5.0 litre V8 Supercar version of the motor is currently being developed by AMG Customer Sports in Germany" [speedcafe.com] |

What a great race Peter!!,I was at the Singapore F1 last year and the Merc did two laps on its own ,down the straight at full bore sounded better than the F1s. |

The two Merc SLS AMG GT3's that we had racing at the Bathurst 12hour this year sounded incredible! Almost sounded like a Spitfire or Messerschmitt going past! |
