Does anyone have an Aldi store handy that wouldn't mind getting me some coffee pods and posting them to SA? |

What are coffee pods Peter?? We have 2 Aldi stores within 130k radius, and will be going to one of them in the next few weeks if thats any help.
How much of a hurry are you in??? |

Aldi sell an excellent and cheap coffee machine that uses coffee capsules or "pods" and is easy to use and clean. We bought one about 2 years ago ($79, new model is now $89) and relied on interstate rellies to get us the coffee pods. The next delivery will be in about 3 weeks, but we will run out before then, so I was hoping to get a few boxes to feed the habit.
So sooner would be great, but check it out for your own use. The pods are also cheap, $0.37/cup compared to $0.60/cup and up for other machines.

I have heard the machine is good, must check it out.
No Aldi stores in SA yet. We look like getting one soon though. Cant wait, give the others a good shake up. |

I didn't know. Aldi is so good get a full trolley for $120 compared to Coles where I just get 3 or 4 bags worth. |

John, from what I read, the Woolies pods have the filter on the other side, so the water goes through the filter, then the coffee instead of the other way around, so more junk in your cup and possibly inside the machine. Some people commented they don't taste as nice, and then there is the cost difference.
Scott, a trolley full sounds good! We got some strange looks doing that last time we were in Victoria. |

Gotta use the Aldi coffee pods, dont think any others fit. Cheap machine at $89.99 though. |

That's the one and yes it doesn't do the milk - which also means it cleans up really quick and easy.
You can do many different styles, but it's a long time since I read the manual.
I just do "Australian male coffee".
Fill the tank, switch on and wait about 10 seconds for it to heat up.
Put mug in place and hit the bottom button for a short flush that pushes hot water through the system and I use it to pre-warm my mug.
Empty mug and replace. Install coffee pod then hit the middle long pour button. When it finishes, hit it again which gets the mug about 2/3 full. Lift the lever to eject the used pod. Meanwhile I put 1/2 cup of milk in the microwave for about 40 seconds.
Add sugar to taste and stir, add milk, then put empty milk cup back into machine and do another short flush to leave the insides clean.
Relax and enjoy a great coffee.
To clean, I just tip the reservoir water on to house plants, remove the catch basket and tip used pods into the bin, rinse the basket off and leave to drain.
They also have a cheap milk frother, works well, but I don't usually bother as it's just something else to clean.
I do recall they had instructions for things like short, expresso etc, I just ain't that fancy. |

Apparently some Woolies pods fit, but the filter is at the other end of the pod so the hot water goes through the filter first, and then the coffee so you get grounds going through the machine and into your cup. I have also read that the coffee doesn't taste as good and that the pods are more like $0.50 each compared to Aldi being $0.37 each. |

Exactly the way I make it Peter. Only I like cleaning even less, just top up cup with milk & microwave 30secs. I sent you the la spezia, my fave, to try. Figured that not having Aldi local you wouldn't have tried the newer flavours. Occasionally they have limited editions of new flavours, some are good. Will pm details when I get a chancey |
