Sorry, just venting but I mean this is ridiculous.
Got rear ended last night (or early this morning) by some stupid woman.
Standing in front of my car (was with a mate) and all I see are these tail lights heading straight into the back bumper of my car and both cars being wedged up... funny that they think the scratches and crap weren't caused by them (the guy in the passenger seat said he was the witness for the girl driving the Corolla when me and my mate both saw). And now they're saying that they don't have to pay for sfa. Safe to say I haven't been in the best of moods today
Some people are absolute twits and should've never had a license in the first place. The best part of it? The babble they were speaking to each other, trying to tell them that it was THEIR fault for hitting MY car was like communicating with a brick wall when sober...
Any panel beaters that you guys recommend? Hopefully around East Sydney and ASAP if possible.

That sort of thing makes me fear every carpark I enter. Can I just mention, while others are venting, that Queenslanders can't merge... they don't know how to, and just don't know the rules. It ticks me off that other people get ticked off at me simply because THEY don't know the rules.
Jose, if all else fails, see a solicitor, if only to get a threatening letter from them. The threat of taking them to court when they know they are in the wrong might prompt them to pay up. If all else fails it could be worth the money. And like Dragan said, they can't be a witness if they're in the driver's car or know the person. So it comes down to he said, she said.

Jose, report it ASAP to your local police station... get the officers details and do all your dealings through them. They will usually be kind enough to contact the other party and if the other party admits fault to the officer on the phone, that is USUALLY enough for you insurance company. That's the way I've just gone through things after an incident with another car (not the soarer). Other party told me on the phone (they left the scene after the incident!) they were not going to pay. The police rang them and they told him they were waiting for the letter from my solicitor or insurance and then they would pay. This was enough for the police officer to be a suitable witness to admitted liability.

That sucks Jose, but if you car has been hit from the back and theirs has a bent in front won't that speak for itself?
While we're talking about road idiots I am currently hating people who: Rush forward one car when merging which means everyone else has to brake just so they can reach their destination a second or so earlier. People who do not check their blind spot nor indicate before trying to swap lanes. People who cross four lanes of traffic to get to the exit they forgot they were supposed to get off at. Old people in general.

Really sorry to hear it mate. How bad is the damage, not that there's any good sort. WIll a new coat of paint fix it or is there panel or bumper damage? You've got comprehensive insurance don't you?

Im currently in the process of being sued for $2500 of damage. I was on my way home from work and was dropping a colleague home.. i was in my bunky and was in peak hour traffic waiting at a red light... in front of me is a white corolla followed by a red commodore and then a bus.. the bus takes off and pulls straight into its pay and someone jumps off then starts indicating to come back in... the commodore went straight past it and the corolla at last second decided she would let the bus in... but the stupid B*tch didn't stop behind the bus... she stopped right next to it and she stopped INSTANTLY... sure enough i went straight up her ass.. I wasn't speeding, i wasn't distracted and i wasn't tailgating her she just stopped instantly and POW i slammed into her... she was in her 40's, on P-plates and had only been in the country for a few months so hence she had no road iniative whatsoever. Im just as much to blame tho.. the reason im being sued is cause i didn't have insurance but you learn from your mistakes.
The other night tho things sorta started looking up, you see.. i have a witness and she doesn't and both me and my mates statements are word for word the same.. we told the cops we had pictures of where my skid marks were.. they start right before the bus stop and stop in the middle of the bus stop showing that the stupid woman didn't stop at the right point and the cop told me im not at fault, even tho i rear ended her the cop clarified the woman driving carelessly so i might not have to pay after all.

You're all ways on dodgy ground when ever you shunt someone up the arse, the theory being you should all ways leave enough space to stop, hence the '2 second rule'. The only exception is if the person in front stops for no apparent/reasonable reason. This may be what the cop reckons is in your favour. In that case you'll need to counter sue, to cover your damage, as you don't have insurance to do it for you.

No good Jose mate......... My TT was backed into by a truck driver at work, he drove off. Lucky one of the guys in the fruit shop saw it happen and i was straight on the phone to his company and my insurance and the police.
The guy came back, admitted fault and should know this week when its going in to get it fixed.
They guy wanted me to be nice to him and get him a few quotes and we could work something out..... I said Mate, if you had stopped and asked around who owned the car and done the right thing, then sure. But seeing as you drove off thinking you got away with it, My insurance company will be in touch!

Jose, all I do it report it to the police and insurance, and things usually work out, insuance companies are not that stupid when it comes to working out who actually caused the collision.
Cheers guys, been running around for quotes, most about the $400~ mark. Damage isn't really *that* bad the woman was being a complete arse about the situation so I'm taking it out through insurance, I can't be bothered arguing with tard drivers. The thing that drove me up the wall the most when this dialogue occured...
Sgt. Dumbass: What your model is it? Me: 1997 Sgt. Dumbass: Oh, it's only 1997 model.
Friggin idiot, it costs nearly triple the price of their beaten up pile of poo.
Sam, pretty scuffed up rear bumper but no full damage (kinda thank the fact it was in a car park). Here's two pics, they show the damage the best... yeah scratch marks but bloody hell if you hit it YOU PAY FOR IT! I tried to clean it up a little with some paint cleaner, this is the best I could get out of it.
