The K and I have spent a few days away, driving from Canberra up the highway then down through Kangaroo Valley to Berry, South to Ulladulla and on to Batemans Bay and up the Clyde. Wonderful driving.
Traditionally, I have preferred small fast sedans, of which the IS300 is an epitome. I have also noticed that when you approach an overtaking lane, the cars in front want to do all of their overtaking before they give you a chance to get through. In the Soarer, on two out of three occasions, everyone simply moved over for the fast car behind them, and did their overtaking afterwards. On the third occasion, near the top of the Clyde, I hooted the silly bugger and shot past when he hastily backed in to the left lane.
The car is wonderful everywhere, of course, but the Clyde Mountain really characterised it. Most of the steep part is 3rd gear, the rest in 4th with two 2nd gear corners. Every other car was despatched with ease, there and on the cruisy 5th gear bits later on, with the Soarer casually out-handling the sorts of other cars I met and walloping them on power when time to pass. Meanwhile, I am sitting in leather luxury with sound to suit and warmth to spare, clouds and occasional rain sliding over the sunroof with open blind.
Man, that was fun.
Now, the bad bit. Kristina is quite tall and the passenger seat has no height adjustment, so her legs are not supported and this causes back pain whereas the driver is completely comfortable. Solutions? What can I do for a better passenger seat?

David, maybe try tilting the front of the seat up using spacers or some means, so more pressure is put on the leg under the thigh. Used to work on the old Holdens.
