I'd agree they make good engines, and engines that rev well, and I also think they usually have quite good drivetrains, suspension and brakes - but yes, I agree their panel work and paint is bad by japanese standards, which leads to water leaks and in some cases rust. Also a lot of models have very poor switchgear layout and quality, and electrics can be a little dodgy too. Of course they have their good and bad models like any car maker. Personally I won't ever buy another one, though they are preferable to a Mitsi I guess.

I've neer owned a Honda, but from what I hear their reputation for quality is quite good (I'm ignoring the VTEC YO! bullsh|t) so I wouldn't hesitate to get one on that basis.

Sometimes, for longer posts, I compose in a text editor and paste them in when ready. It also makes it easier to refresh before posting, in case someone else added something pertinent. The side benefit for your case is obvious.
