<sappy_story> I used to have HUGE confidence issues. In high school i used to be the quiet one, never talked to girls, could never even look at one!
I went through some pretty bad periods of depression or similar unhappy phases. Came out of it not caring about what people think about me. People who know me may understand this a little better. And whilst im not quite as good as Travis, im getting there ;D

Or as in Lee??
EDIT: Yep, definitely as in Lee. Quotes from IMDB:
"Ah, stardom! They put your name on a star in the sidewalk on Hollywood Boulevard and you walk down and find a pile of dog manure on it. That tells the whole story, baby."
"If I have any appeal at all, it's to the fellow who takes out the garbage."

I guess I'm still not prepared to classify you all as 'friends' after what happened with my b'day last year.
What a kick in the teeth this is. A lot of us barely knew you back then, I know I didn't. If memory serves, I'd only met you once. To be honest I felt, and still feel, that the car is really the only thing that we had in common. Who sat in peak-hour traffic on the freeway to drive you to your new job when your car was off the road? Who picked you up from work? Who helped you find bus times and drove you to WA Soarer events while your car was still off the road?
If you have such social angst then why did you organise all those poker nights at meetings at Pot Black? You never miss an event and I was under the impression that you enjoyed them. But don't bitch and moan about how you never get laid, don't have any friends and can't talk to women when all you did at the pub on Friday was stand in the corner not talking to anyone.

Geez Sam, talk about a vent.
Firstly, thank you again for your help when my car was in the hospital. I did offer to pay you for your trouble, remember? And of course I never miss a club event - once I do find some people I'm comfortable around, I'll cling to them like sh1t on arse-hair. And you're right, normally I try not to complain so much about my single-ness (which is difficult, I'm a natural-born whinger), but this thread has just gotten way too out of hand. Seriously, I just made one self-deprecating joke about not being able to chat up women (post #2 in this thread) and all of a sudden it's become this huge drama.

As Ben said, we all want to help. The problem is Adam it wasn't just one joke, you make these comments all the time. So yeah basically as Sam said, put up or shut up.
