I thought the crossover episode of SG-1 with Atlantis was great... Atlantis itself has been a bit meh so far this season. Last episode I saw was Ronan going all Die Hard on his home world. Was entertaining enough, but bring on some more story arc already!

Luke, how much Stargate have you actually watched? I too thought it was crap until I actually started watching more than one episode here and there. They have good, multi season story arcs, semi-acceptable levels of technobabble, which never gets too OTT like Star Trek, the characters actually grow and change over time, good humour, really good continuity and often quite thoughtful story telling.

Richard Dean Anderson was the best choice for a long running leader. Also if you look how well the 'Team' merges in their acting skills, it is so casual that they make it look like a documentary of a actual team.
Mind you they have been together 10 years? so there would be something wrong if they didn't merge well

The movie was alright, but IMO it went down hill when they replaced Kurt Russel with McGyver(spelling?)
Hahah thats the most backwards statement ever.
Have you see Poseidon? And you want that guy to be O'Neil? Personally, i cant stand Kurt Russel. Retarded 'B' grade crappy actor who acts in crappy movies... i wasnt too fond of the Stargate movie... but i love the series.
Richard Dean is the best actor for the role of O'Neil, he brought so much dynamic stuff to that character (Funny, serious, awesomeness etc).

I'm right up to date in Stargate Atlantis and SG1, it has been getting better and better lately! Every new group of baddies seems to outdo the previous, I love how they keep on coming up with new ideas to keep it fresh.
I wish channel Nein (for their nazi attitude to sci fi) would get with the times and broadcast some recent episodes.
For now, it is off to Bit Torrent to download them ;)

Chan 7 is showing BSG and SG1 to my knowlege. I wouldnt be supprised if the sci fi chan didnt give out the license to Atlantis to any other channel since 7 have SG1

Hasn't been canceled, only scfi channel isn't renewing its contract to show season 11. MGM are still going to make it, just be going to another channel, don't know yet though, so don't cry to much, blow your nose and everything will be fine.

Well, until I see an official announcement of a particular channel picking it up, the rumour about it moving to another channel is just that - a rumour. So I'll wait and see, but I won't hold my breath for SG-1 season 11.

Well, like Jack said in 200, it was all supposed to be over with the fishing at the end of season 8 originally...
Atlantis is a good show, but they lack some of the wonder of SG-1 - somehow the Anchents seem to have been dulled down a bit - the tech level of Atlantis seems to be not even as high as the Asguard. In SG-1 they were practically god like, even before they ascended.
