I have unfortunately destroyed my diff. in my auto tt. I want to go a Torsen LSD (which are very hard to come across). Or should I go the aftermarket option like a TRD , Cusco or Tomei. etc. I know there have been alot of posts in relation to the above topic, however, you advice/opinion will be appreciated

Torsen 4.083:1 for sure, yup you are right they are super SUPER hard to get hold of. Will run you about a grand + 1.5-2 hrs @ whatever your mechanic charges to put it in.

Thanks for the response Carl. I would be happy to go the Torsen. There is one in Adelaide that I am hoping to get, just waiting on the guy to get back to me to confirm that he actually does have one. Supposedly he is wrecking a manual soarer. Hopefully its an A02B. I spoke to one guy in Revesby(Sydney) and he told me that he would install a Supra TT diff in my car for $1000. I was very sceptical as I have been told that there is alot involved in the installation

It depends on which Supra it comes from mate. Its got to be auto (to bolt straight up) i know that for sure. However i'm not sure on specifics like if both TT and some NA's will suit etc.

The guy told me that the diff housing had fins on the back of it and that is should bolt straight in. He also told me that it had 4:11 ratios which probably wouldn't suite freeway driving, plus my speedo will out. Another question is, are all Toyota LSD's Torsen or are there some that are LSD only. I hope I am making some sense

My car was an Auto (obviously being a V8) when we converted (read: Neil Griffiths...The Zues of the pantheon of Soarer Gods that frequent this forum) it to manual the same diff stayed in unmodified, whilst I waited for my Torsen LSD. When I go the LSD (out of a TT) it bolted directly in with ZERO mod's.

On the speedo side of things, do you have an EMV? If yes you can enter the diagnostic mode & on one of the frames there is a facility to adjust. The wheels radius, turning circle & odometer.........(from memorey) We got mine to within 100m out over 5km (linial distance) once you are that close the speedo (i.e km/hr) is damn accurate. I have tested this against an unmodified Commadore & a unmod'd RAV 4. When they were doing 100km/hr mine was also displaying 100km/hr

Carl I don't have an EMV. I want to get my hands on a Torsen LSD out of a TT soarer(as there are no mods involved, just fits straight in). Finding one has become very difficult. I spoke to guy who had a diff out of an Aristo. He believes that all you have to do is change the yoke and it should fit in easy.
Drew, have you had a Supra diff installed in your TT. I am getting conflicting views in relation to installing Supra/Aristo diffs in a Soarer TT. Its hard to decide which avenue to take

I have not, however im about to go single and I expect to need a new diff not long after (whoops) so i've been trawling all sorts of places to find out what will fit.
