Don't paint them mate, they look good the way they are but it is up to you.On white they will look hot the way they are,A bit tacky painted white or black. When you put these on be sure to post a pic.

Thanks for that Jeff,
Im mainly considering painting them just so its not so average looking, that and the fact that the rears have some damage that the paint could easily cover =)

I have nankang's on my car and found they have great grip dry or wet.If you have a look at any document that has to do with australian product's they will alway's make out that the australian product is best. For me nankang tyre's were the best choice for my doller. The previous tyre's I had on were very bad in the wet and cost me $250 front $270 rear, very dear.(falken, warning DON'T Bye).
On another note david when you do put tyre's on, make sure you get a weel alignment done it will save you dollers in the long run(went through two sets of tyre's under 15,000k's(per set) before a weel alignment)The tyre's wore on the inside down to the wire but the outside was hardly worn,on both front and back tyre's.
David I thought you ment the centre cap on the rims not the hole centre. They would look good black,White,Well my thought's is it will look too much white and hard to keep clean, were as with black you can hide the small stains,So what I am saying is "keep it simple and clean and it will alway's look good".Again it is up to you how you want your car too look(your style) Everyone has differant taste's.

To know whether Nankangs would suit you, David, we need to know what you are willing to pay for tyres. There are far better tyres out there, not necessarily at the same price.

I would have to agree with you David V,That is why I got nankang for the cost, were as the like's of pirelli or bridgestone they cost way too much for my pocket I was quoted $300-$500 per tyre.So I had to find the best deal for my money and the best safety too for my price range.

Id be looking at spending between 180-250 for the tyres, so open to a few brands.. what profile do I need? 240/35 or something?
Considering just chucking them on as is, and if I dont like it taking them off and getting them painted up.. il see how it goes!
Thanks guys, Dave.
And yeah looking at getting Nankang NS-2's, are they only sold at smaller tyre places or can I pick up a set from say jax/bob jane etc? (tempe is a bit out of the way for me)

Get yourself some Hankook Ventus 104 sprits , I have 235/40/18 and 265/35/18's front/rear on my Celsior and they are great , quiet enough with excellant grip in the wet which is what really matters ?? Plus Hankook have a tyre damage replacement policy as long as the tyre is more than 50% . I can attest to this as the good Lady damaged the inner sidewall with a big cut/chunk by driving over a very high gutter on an oblique angle , Hankook gave me a replacement for half price !! How good is that !!

generally anyone who reckons a $135 18" tyre grips well has probably never felt anything much better. Tyres are the only thing connecting you to the road, it makes sense to spend a little more on them.
I had a very agressive tyre on my old car and i will never go back. The difference in cornering forces was amazing, if you can find someone with a really good set of tyres (r comps or similar) get them to take you for a spin, you will be changed forever.
These little beauties will be going on the car when i get the wheels. I will be happy with <$400 per tyre but the performance will be well worth it.
My last set of rears lasted 10,000k's and the fronts over 20,000 driven fairly hard, as long as its not a daily its well worth it.

I agree with you but my car is a daily driver from the gong to sydney so looking for cheaper tyre's for me is the answer,The nankang's last me for 10.000-15.000k's and for little cost they are the tyre for me(also the best performing tyre for that price range). And yes if I was to do a little track work,I would put on some semi slick's for better grip.

I did have falkens on before but found they grip very well till around the 5.000k mark then they lose grip to a dangerous point,In the wet they are no good I had a hard time controlling my car at 65-75k's hour on a straight stretch of road and with a TT that is scary.I tried the nankang's then and haven't looked back they grip well in the wet all the way to 10-15000k's,even when you give them some stick it is very hard to get the car sideway's(not much fun but I know they are doing there job)

I agree, i had potenza re070's on my 17's and faaark did they hang on. Not cheap however, and unfortunately as a daily you will rarely take them to their limits. My 20's have got cheap n nasties until my coilovers are replaced, then i'll go somethig a little better. A good set of midline Falkens rarely disappoints, i can organise a set to your door for $750 (thereabouts) within a week of payment.

I had Nankangs on mine. Nothing wrong with them for everyday driving. Got well over 12 months out of them. Good in the wet under heavy breaking. However, I just changed the fronts to Kuhmo. They are supposedly silica based. They are quieter than the Nankangs and seem to give a nicer ride. Paid $280 each for 225/35/20.
