I have a faint ticking noise coming from the rear of the car. It's wheel speed related, and sounds like it's either coming from the end of the driveshaft/diff or maybe the left rear wheel. At first I could only hear it at speeds above 90km, but now I can hear it from about 70km. It's faint enough that you need the stereo off to hear it.

I heard of a great practical joke once, where a guy tied a long cable tie around someone's tailshaft! Everytime it went around, the tail hit on the body and made a ticking noise! Check that this hasn't happened to you!!

If you has jacket the rear of your car engaged in neutral and you has rotated the wheels and the noise is audible then you perhaps need to remove the differential fluid and filled with new one. Do the same experiment again and listen for noises. If the noise persists then I will recommend taking your car to a specialist for an overhaul of your differential. The differential has many embedded components; perhaps just one of this has been broken and need replacement. This will cost you some money.
