Over the last few weeks these stock v8 wheels have really grown on me. Ive never really liked them or hated them but lately I find they are a nice classic looking wheel, much like a more simplistic of Jaguar wire wheels or something similar...

However the only let down is the tires I find, I have 205/60/R15s on all of them but they look do chubby due to the large side wall height... So what I was considering is getting some new tires with a small side wall profile, Perhaps 50/R15? Any ideas of what brands and models to look out for?

Any ideas about this, people with pictures of there v8 wheels and tires - any recommendation's would be good.

This is just and idea I had, Ill most likely upgrade to some TT or larger Non-OEM wheels - but would consider this an option. :-)

Mike, lower profile will leave a huge gap under the arches and mess with your speedo, ride quality and fuel economy.

Mike, what about getting a set of Mk 3 Supra factory wheels - they are either 16" or 17", can't remember, but in any case they are similar looking to the standard Soarer wheels, but wider and will allow you to fit a lower profile - you could probably go to something like a 235/45 ZR17 tyre, which would look quite nice, or if they are a 16" wheel, a 225/50 R16. My neighbour has about 4 or 5 Mk 3's several of them still with the stock rims, and they do look like they might be 17's.

Of course this is assuming the offset and stud pattern are suitable...

I have Goodyear Eagle F1's (GSD3) on the front of my soarer and will probably never get a different tyre again, awsome grip in the dry and fantastic in the wet.

None of the A70 Supras came with bigger than 16" rims. And some of the GA70s only had 15" rims.

Ah, must be 16" - they are definitely bigger and wider than my 15" rims - I suppose I should pop over the the neighbours and take a closer look. The tyres they have certainly sit very square on them, which suits the car well.
