Rim width and tyre size

The stock wheels and tyres of my car are: 15X6.5JJ Type F and 215/60R15. Reading a book on tyres it said that it is possible to order a 225/60R16 and still fit it on a 15” wheel rim without undue harm. Can I do this? What could be the side effects of this change? I would not like to order a set of 16” alloy wheels.

Juan, no, you need a 16" rim to fit a 16" tyre. Get a set of old Supra rims, 16 by 8's. Then you can go to 225/55R16 or even up to 235's. 60 profile at 225 would be a bit tall and would put your speedo out.

You COULD probably put a 225/60R15 on your existing rims if you can find a tyre that size. It'd probably be very bulgy looking though, and have excessive wall flex.
