Saw a set of rims in Perth for sale at a really good bargain. Just wondering if I should even bother with these and putting them on the Soarer, given the offset of the wheel. I know that wrong offsets can cause tramlining (dependant on other factors like bushes etc). Details of the wheels are:

17 x 7.5
Silver / Machine finish.
The offset is ET3 & ET35.
Stud pattern =5x114.3 EL Falcon and earlier models 5x114.3 , 5x120.

don't go under 38 offset. It is not recommended for the soarer.

They will fit with that ET because they are only 7.5" rims. Would actually push them out to the guards nicely.

For example, if the stock Soarer rims are +50 and 7.5" wide, you will be moving the ET30 (Im making a HUUUGE assumption that you meant ET30 and not ET3) you will have moved teh rim 20mm closer to the guard, and 20mm further awaty from the suspension component.

This applies only if the Soarer factory rim is 7.5" and +50 offset (info of which I got from this site somewhere, I could well be wrong.

But an extra 20mm of track is no problem for clearing guards, however, steering geometry and handling could well be affected adversely, I wouldnt know. Some guys have fitted crazy offsets to their cars and had no dramas. Others have had bad bad dramas.

Make sure the CentreBore on the rims is at least 60.1mm in diameter. Any bigger means youll need Spigot Rings to seat teh rim properly on the hub, any smaller means they wont fit period.

I believe the factory Soarer rim is 7". Is this still going to make that much of a difference if I bought the wheels and fitted them?

I really don't understand the whole offset thing, but go on what I get from the forum. Yeah it is supposed to be ET30-35.
