hi guys.....my v8 soarers (uzz31) air suspension has died....and im looking at getting some coilover suspension to replace it as the stock suspension is simply too expensive to fix.
im looking to get the tien super streets from www.greenline.jp (a japanese online parts company, very cheap) however im not sure whether to get the super streets with or without pillow ball mounts.
one thread ive read on the forums says that its not needed on v8 soarers, however another thread indicate i might be missing some parts when it comes to installing?
if someone could give me an answer to this predicament i would greatly appreciate! thanks guys.

ok, so i dont need pillowballs for the front....but what about for the rear?
when i buy the coilovers from overseas, they come as a set of 4, with or without pillow mounts. so if the rear needs them, then i will have to go for the set of 4 with the mounts.
does anyone know a reputable mechanic in melb who wont charge an arm and a leg to fitting in coilovers?

No Champesh, not for the rear either.
Anybody that says you need them for street applications is talking sh1te.
It sounds like your not sure on exactly what they are (forgive me if I'm wrong), so:
Pillow ball mounts (either with or without camber/caster plates) ensure a much stiffer top strut mount (noisy to, normally). This is handy when setting up suspension for track work as the settings you apply don't deform very much under load, unlike standard rubber tops (you can get varying stiffness rubber bushes of course).
The deformation under street load isn't enough to notice (at least I've never been able to pick it by the seat of my pants).
The only reason I would opt for a pillow ball mount is if I wanted camber/caster adjustment at the strut top, then its mandatory (for a MacPherson strut set up any way).
For our suspension set up on Soarers, meh, Un-necessary.

I would suggest buying tein comfort sports.
the super streets are the cheap low end coilovers for racing. I just paid $2200 delivered for Tein CS top of the line specially made for luxury cars and can be set softer than stock suspension

thanks heaps everyone for the very helpful information
i think i will go with adam's suggestion and opt for the Tein CS.
Oliver in regards to selling the existing struts, i am all up for this! unfortunately ive got no idea what they would be worth?
also can anyone recommend me a place to get the coilovers fitted in melb? or if no-one knows a place, can someone provide me a rough idea as to how much i can reasonably be expected to pay to get this done? ive had so many dodgy dealings with mechanics in the past, i dont trust any quote they give me anymore.
