The cost would be huge - best bet is to get some nice coil overs i reckon.

Hi Tim,
I will put my 2 cents worth in and answer 1 of your questions 'what is the difference driving'?
I recently sold a good condition UZZ30 to buy a good condition UZZ31.
Bear in mind too that the previous 31 owner replaced the TEMS struts for new genuine units (so about as good as they will get) and the bushes are excellent..
My findings are the 30 offers plusher 'small impact' ride (joins in concrete and bitumen) while offering less body roll. So basically put, the 31 feels slightly harsher, but doesn't corner as well.
On an upside, for all that money, you DO have 2 new buttons on the console and a car that is heavier.
In summary, personally.... I wouldn't change the car I have now, because it's a nice car. But if I was buying a new one and could spec it how I wanted it... I would buy a UZZ30 in a heatbeat over a 31.
I agree with Michael.

The other downside of the '31 is that it actually costs close to $4000 if you need to replace them at any time.

I agree with the above. The only plus you have is an in-car adjustable height and suspension softness. I think a UZZ30 actually handles better (although I've never tried one).

The ride quality of the air suspension depends a lot on the ride height you have the car set to, lower ride heights are noticeably harder/harsher than higher ones

Spot on Phil.
Set it higher and you will get very plush ride, never harsh
Drop it low and it can get too firm.
When it comes to corners, air bags will roll more then struts.

Better yet why not get hydraulics, then you wont need to worry about handling or stifness lol

Next step up baby
