I have a 1991 4litre V8 that has a slight knock from the rear when you go over any rough surface. I've had it checked out and it's the front mounting bushes of the rear subframe, the two bolts that vertically connect the subframe to the body. These bolts go through rubber bushes backed by a steel washer, approximately 2.5 inches in diameter and it's this rubber bush that has a little play in it. I've been told by the Lexus main dealer that the whole subframe has to come out to replace them and it will cost a minimum of 700 Pounds Stirling (quite a lot). The dealer admits he's never worked on a Soarer, as you probably know it's only available in the UK as an import. I'd like to know if there's any alternative and if I can get a diagram or mechanical drawing for the Soarer. Thanks for any help you can give me.
