hi all, i have recently bought a 91 gt-l soarer which i bought very low, thinking the suspension was crook, it is... i have stripped the air pump down which was very crusty inside and was seized up. I changed the bushes and winding, the pump now works but the suspension still does not move.In the boot when i switch the button from on to off i can hear a click on the other side of the boot, but after disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes and reconnecting the car still does not rise , i have run out of ideas and after reading the other threads am still stuck. What i was thinking of doing was buying a set of springs , but how much kit do you need to buy ??, is it 4 springs , 4 shock absorbers, stoppers, does anyone have a list of all the parts needed so i can just go to pedders once with my shopping list and then go home and get dirty under the soarer and maybe just be able to use it again , thanks for any help rich

You have a couple of options. There is a fair bit of information on Soarer Central to help find the problem with your current setup, or convert to a standard spring type setup.

Hello Rich & welcome. I have a standing record of telling people that if they have bought an airbag car then better to keep it that way (you paid for that feature) or trade it for one with springs, but I admit that your case is sounding a bit sad. Here are some threads on problems and diagnostic processes other people have tried. I think at least one of these made the changeover.

Good work David. I am thinking of making either Topics for 31 and 32 related issues. I could make them Sub-topics, but then they can still get lost amongst the rest of the threads.
Any feedback about this from anybody is welcome as always.

Perhaps split Suspension into "steel wool" and "flatulent" (you might think of better titles ) where the first covered general suspension issues or spring-based specifics and the second was 31, 32 or Aristo/Celsior systems, i.e. those using air, oil and pumps to keep their bellies off the road.

you may want to look for a set of adjustable coil overs for it but make sure you don't go getting the cheep and nasty one's for a bit more you can get something decent and it worth the bit extra, its not like you have to change them all the time i just got some tein type flex and there choise have a good look round before you buy
