Guys

I just took the car to the mechanic for a service and he advised that the front left shock is toast.

Does anyone know…

1. What are a pair of front shocks worth..

2. Who in Sydney, or on the Central Coast, should I take the car to get this done??

Any thoughts?

no idea what they are worth.

But if they are just regular kinda shocks, should be able to get a price from repco or whatever, just say its a Lexus ls400 , they should stock them.

The car is a Celsior with TEMS. I dont know what kind of shocks they use..... I don't think the Aust delivered LS400 shocks would be the same.

Ben, I'm pretty sure Aus. delivered cars only came with coils.
If you have TEMS, You have air bags, mate.

Sorry, cant help you with price, but I'm thinking big $$$$$.

Good luck.

Ben

There is a company in the US that does a replacement remanufactured unit that is worth considering.

Even with freight that is probably worth comparing prices with the Toyota part. From memory the Celsior Air suspension is around 4K a corner unless Toyota have done the right thing recently and dropped it to the $880 of the Soarer. The Soarer parts were originally over $4K each as well.

There are no shortage of units in Japan.

http://search1.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/search/auc?p=ucf1&auccat=2084016852&alocale=0jp&acc=jp&mode=1

At a buy price of 16,000 and a weight of 8kg each, I estimate $400 for 1 delivered or about $700 for 2 due to economies of scale.
