OK I have done a lot of searching and reading but cannot find any reference to where the height sensors are.(I suspect I may have a faulty one)

My front driver side is down about an inch on what it normally is.(airbag is okay) The system goes up and down and holds air okay but just doesn't match the height of the passenger side.

Any help appreciated.

Brett, mine has been doing the same ever since i had some new bushes installed.

I will be removing them when next week and have my 4th set of bags installed.

You are keen Adam - When my bags go I will be thinking about after market air bag suspension. Supplied kit is not much more than the cost of 4 of the Toyota airbags.

So my question still stands - where the height sensors located.

Also are they prone to failure?

And any idea what the part # (Don?) and cost from Toyota might be?

Any help appreciated. Brett

Height sensors are located in the inner/chassi side of the wheel arch just behind the lower control arm. You will see the height rod that connects to it and the LCA.

I would suggest checking the bolts on the height rod first. They do have the potential for movement up and down if they become loose.

So what is responsible for the 3 inch lowering of the front airbags whilst the car is parked? Leaking airbags or faulty sensor?
(The airbags never used to dump themselves prior to new LCA bushes)

Thanks Damien - I will check the rod. I did adjust the rods about 3 years back.

Adam a good way to check for leaks is to park the car on a level surface then measure the height of the wheel arch then check the level again the next morning. Mine is remaining the same. Its just the front driver one that is a different height. Using my after market height adjuster I can raise the front (both sides) to an acceptable level but the drivers side remains lower. With my system I am unable to raise or lower each corner independently (only front or rear)

hrmmm, well the set i have atm will be out and replaced with newer ones. I park the car at night and in the morning the front right has lowered itself 6 inches and the left 3 inches, rears raise 1 inch. After one minute of the car being started in the morning all the heights return to their normal setting.

I checked the adjuster rod and it is in place and has not moved so I suspect a height Sensor. Is any one aware if this can be tested, or maybe a part number and a price.

Lew would you have a spare one floating around? (to test and then to buy)
