Here is the rim combos next to each other, azenis rt215 on 17's and Mickey T's on 16's.

Oh and the rubber on Mickey T's is soft as. Treadwear rating is 0. That's right 0. Temperture rating is C. Traction rating is C (due to its poor wet weather handling).

Azenis on the other hand are treadwear 200, Temperture A, Traction AA from memory.

255/40/17. Just fitted them and it looks like 1/2 an inch. Just fits under the guard. You'd need to lip the guards to fit 275 Mickey T's.

yep azenis for the street. I wouldn't expect the mickey T's would last long on the street. I might drive to eastern creek from my place at most on them.

Let me know If/When you are gonna go. I can take my Falcon and Pit for you if you want to change them there and chuck your street Azenis in the boot. Just a thought mate. Or even on the back seat of the Soarer. The Offer is always there mate. If im not busy,. im happy to help.

INvest in a GOOD 12 Volt Air Compressor though. That way you can drop the slicks down to the desired pressure ( 14psi or whatever it is) and then you can pump them back up before you hit the road. Helps with the wear and tear on them a little.

Yeah that's a good point, what is the pressure for Mickey T's street radials? I assume it's 20psi, same as regular radials? 14psi sounds more like Mickey T cross plys.

Oh and thanks for the offer, that'd be awesome. I'll be there in early january. when is the first time it opens again in jan?

I can get a set of 235/60R15 MT's for $230 each, is this a good price? I'm tempted to pick them up tomorrow. Will they fit standard Soarer rims?

Seems ok, but that's 15 inch. Me and daniel paid $275 each for 16 inch with 255 width.

I did my 1.595 60ft time on 17psi of tyre pressure.

255 will possibly get chopped up by my guards unless I get a bit of suspension work done, and I've been hooking up sub 2secs OK with 'ordinary' 235s so far, should be safe to use?

1.5x is a mad 60 foot, well done :-)
I'll be happy to do 1.7x or 1.8x.

I can't see why you couldn't run 255 width. Shane's cressida runs the same tyres Daniel and I run. One things for sure, a soarer couldn't run a 275 ET street tyre unless you used a different offset rim, so maybe its a problem with the rim offset your using?

I ran a 1.68 60 footer last night with 17psi of pressure in the tyres:-)

With little stall ( between 2000 and 2400 and not spooled up ) I manages some easy 1.8's.

Stalled up and on boost i got a 1.71 , 1.68, 1.71 again.

AFter finally getting over 10 runs on the slicks i have finally worked out how to launch it good:-) ALl i need to do is get my rear discs machined and new pads ( which i have) so i can maybe hold it better and geta little more boost off the line.

If you want to run the 235's its up to you. They should hook up pretty damn good still. Just check the Tyre height. How many inches?

Nevermind, i just looked up. They are 26 inches which is the same height as what Ben, Shane and Myself are running.

I have found 1 Benefit from the ET streets. They actually make my Speedo read a FRACTION lower than the speeds its doing. Which is Great news:-) Heres why:-

Last night i was crossing the line with about 173-175km/h on my dash. BUT in fact i was running 177-178km/h. So this Means i would be able to get about 183-184km/h Real Speed and my dash would then read the 180 and hit speed cut!

So effectivley the Tyres are a Fraction taller than my road rubber ( not by much ) but it gives me leway to run up to the 113 maybe 114mph mark without actually hitting the speed limiter. Which i am stoked about:-)

I can get the 275 x 17 ET Streets locally here for about 210 per tire. That's looking like a decent price but i want to see what i can get them out of the states for.

*Bump* Does anyone have advice on what the best rim size is to get for M/Ts? I will probably go the route of getting some old Ford rims or something to put them on.

I'm running my MT streets on supra rims, same as Daniel and Ben's. 255/50/16 on a 16 x 7 supra rim. Works a treat too.

Luke, best to stick with toyota rims. Pulling 1.5x 60 ft times is a lot of stress on the rims, so you don't want to have rims that were never made for the vehicle. Steve, there 16x8 :-)

gday guys!

Ive got a 16*9" supra rear rims, and hoping to put some MT's on them! Will be going on my aristo which is lowered. but will happily raise it for the MT's to fit if need be.

255/50R-16 $310
315/45R-16 $335

At this place
http://www.amecautocare.com.au/mtet.htm

Will the 315's fit?

Unfortunately they 315's will not fit under a standard soarer guard Wayne. Looking at the car you've got i will admit i don't know as much about the aristo as the soarer but i believe that with out some very serious persuasion a 315 wouldn't fit under an aristo either.

also MT tyres tend to be a lot wider than a conventional tyre of the same width. For example a 255 looks like a 275. You could probably fit a 275 if you rolled the guards, but I believe they only come in 15 inch wheel size.

17 however is not a good idea for drag racing as the tyres ability to bag is far less than a 16 or better still a 15.
