Have set of Toyota bilsteins in JZZ30 TT, these have been fairly faultless, except made a big mistake and decided to get them rebuilt by struts R us, just generally to get them stiffer. they literally last about 6 months, and then they start getting noisy and leaking oil, since have been rebuilt twice. Really after a whole new set and can't be faced for another rebuild.
Suggestions, pretty happy with spring rates, although would consider a new setup like the Tein super street, or just 4 new bilsteins.

bilsteins are $246 ea through my work. Or rebuilding them by bilstein in sydney is about $270 pr pair and upwards. Why would you have them rebuilt by some other than bilstein sydney?
I think there's only one place that specialises in Bilsteins in Sydney (Heasman Steering). If you're happy with the spring rate and ride height I'd look at getting a set of new shocks.
I'd go for a coil over set up too but if you're not planning to change the ride height and know what spring rates you want then I'm sure a good set of shocks and springs would be more than enough.

Luke, your a champ. I never got to the end of that thread before. I thought of ringing Toyota but like most things thought the price would be through the roof, so didn't bother. I was seriously about to consider a whole new setup like Tein SS, but this is a better option for me, and damn cheaper.

Sounds a bargain. I was originally thinking coilovers to replace airbags, but these would be perfect. Has anyone out there put bilsteins on a 31'v8? Any problems in doing so? Bilsteins have an excellent reputation. I know they would be firm but would they be a nicer ride than coilovers? Any thoughts/recommendations on springs? CHEERS

Before I splash out on the bilsteins from toyota can it be confirmed they're a viable replacement for airbags on a uzz31. I understand jza80 shockers are compatible but uncertain about 1996 supra bilstein option. advice most appreciated.
The shock design should be the same in both Supra and Soarer within the same time period (91~00). Just remember you need to get Supra specific springs as well.
