Code 51 is a continuous supply of electric current to the NO:1 height control relay .
This drives the compressor , so what it really means is that your compressor is staying on too long .
This may be normal because of many things .
Approximately 70 mins after turning the key off then on again damping force and spring rate control are resumed again .
So leave it overnight and then see what happens on start up .

hrm, i read a reply from you in another thread rich where you said to turn the air susp off from the switch in the boot, then disconnect the battery for 15mins to reset errors then turn the air susp back on and start up the car.
so i did that and the compressor started again and started pumping for about 15seconds before i hear this loud hissing sound coming from the rear right bag.
seems as tho i have popped it, cos i definitely have a massive leak somewhere.
that would probably explain why the compressor was running for to long, it was trying to inflate the bag just as quick as it was deflating.

is this just a matter of getting another bag without any leaks and swapping them over?

That is correct , disconnecting the battery for 15 mins or so will reset it , just put that 70 min thing in so that people know everynight it also resets itself .
I would say from what you say that your right rear airbag is gone , you will need to replace the whole strut as it's just not possible to replace just the bag .
As a note the bag itself is probably not gone , it will be leaking out the top rubber ring seal , I have one on the shelf if you want to go the second hand route or need it fixed quickly and I have a few later model UCF21 struts coming on the boat .
