I pulled off the strut tower cover, where there was a cable that doesn't plug into anything? Is something missing?

That would be for the TEMS suspension (electronically controlled shock stiffness).

hahaha damn i got ripped! I wonder why it would have been changed.

Going to go do some searching, i was about to say that i don't have the tems switch. but thus far i've read that it's controlled by the ect switch.

I can't recall ever seeing any brands on them when i had my wheels off, and they're not coloured or anything such as what you would normally find on aftermarket products.

Is there any way to identify/differentiate between oem non-tems and supra items?

Non TEMS OEM shocks are the same for Supra's and Soarers AFAIK. Supra springs are a bit stiffer and shorter I believe.

Non TEMS OEM shocks are a matt black colour and will be stamped on the side with "Toyota".

Yeah they're matte black, i may just replace them with Tokico Illuminas rather than getting some second hand items.

Does anybody know if there's any other products that can work with the tems actuators/motors? Even if it requires minor modification to retrofit it.

Supra shocks are a bit shorter in the rear (from memory), so if you get Supra springs (at least in the rear) you'll need the matching shocks as well.
