hey guys, i want to get my soarer lowered and all i can seem to find is the king springs that lower the car 35mm, i came accross this pic in car sales.com and that is exactly how low i want mine to be. im pretty sure it belongs to a member on here. anyway im pretty sure the kings dont lower the car this much.

anyway i've done a bit of reading here and have come across the idea of "resetting" the stock springs to a custom height. haven't seen a bad comment about it so far on this site so im thinkin of going for it. does any one know where i can get this done in melbourne? cheers

For replacement springs... tein make them, as do cusco and I'm fairly sure eibach do as well (obviously listed under sc300).

Re-setting stock springs is a waste of time and effort as you'll end up with the same sloppy spring rates.

Get coilovers with an adjustable lower mount (not just adjustable spring perch) and you get set the height to whatever you like.

That is quite low in that pic above. My car isn't that low and I have troubles with driveways and speed humps etc.

If you run your car that low, you may as well have put a big sign on it stating...Come And Defect Me!!

The Police will love ya!!

And as Ben said....Don't reset standard springs lower.

Always, always replace springs, never modify them. Also always make sure your shocks can deal with the new spring rates. Ignore either of these rules and you will end up with poor, unsafe handling. Also, unless you are building a track or show car, that low is just totally impractical and you will end up cursing it, and other drivers will end up cursing you as you hold them up over speed bumps. Lastly, lowering the car this much would also require other suspension modifications to retain proper camber etc I would think.
