Although I bought my car like this so have nothing to compare the ride to, i'm sure the air suspension is dead. The car is painfully low, front tyres scrape guards at 3/4 lock, the ride is very very very rough and the bottom scrapes on everything, and to make matters worse the car has front lip, skideskirts and rear pods.
Flicking the master switch in the boot to turn air susp on or off does nothing, only the Jap warning on the dash displays in 'off' position. Also selecting between high and low and sport setting does nothing. I am hearing no noises or pump when I play with settings.
Is there a simple fuse or broken hose which would be causing this? If I replace it with coils and shocks, what parts are needed (sorry, my knowledge of suspension is limited)? Can I use second hand parts from turbo JZZ30 soarer or supra, or do they have to be from UZZ30? Car is only a cruiser so i don't want to spend money on coilovers, just something which lets me drive over speed bumps and basic driveways!

Is the wiring at the on/off switch in the boot connected? If so, can you here the compressor 'kick-in'?(when you start the car) If not, check the suspension fuse. If fuse blown, change it. If not check to see if the air compressor wiring is disconnected.

Drive for 5 minutes with the boot switch on and the height switch in high position - if does not change height then it is likely the air pump has seized (located in front of the driver side front wheel). Do however check the height switch/wiring/fuses too.
btw, If 2 height sensor rods fail - one front, and one back, then the car will drop.

When you change height from low to high, try listening down by the front right wheel well for noise from the electric pump. You could even pull off its output hose and feel for air output.

To clarify, if the pump is cactus then you can replace it readily and that should be cheap. If the four air bags are cactus then it costs a lot to replace them.
There may also be a leak between the pump and the bags.
In other words, if your suspension has fallen that does not necessarily mean you need springs rather than a repair.

Thanks for responses, both fuses turned out ok. While pulling my interior to pieces to find out why the stock sound system does nothing either, i discovered every wire in the cabin has been butchered, lots of loose connections and wires that lead nowhere, not happy with this mess!
Behind emv, thankfully this works.
Under left passenger seat, yes the TV tuner, radio and navigation unit are missing
Under right passenger seat
Found a loose plug near the suspension computer, any ideas? Colours are black with red line, and black with pink dots
Rather than go through the nightmare of guessing the 200+ connections, i'm cutting my losses and installing an aftermarket headunit with new wires and uzz30 coils, so i will be looking to sell factory tape player, V8 CD stacker (no magazine, sorry) and complete air suspension components (4 corners, compressor, computer), obviously in untested condition but i'm fairly sure it's just bad wiring.

Hang on...... the last picture seems to show a harness to an aftermarket height controller connected to the height computer.
Unplug that aftermarket unit to carry more tests (My guess is the aftermarket computer has gone, but the harness to nowhere is still connected).
The loss of the TV and Sat nav is not a great problem, but it is the fact that NO radio computer (passenger side) is causing the no hifi issues. I guess the stock amps are missing anyway.
