Ok, may finally have to ditch the air bags and go down the path of springs etc.
Has anyone recently switched from air bags to springs etc.
My understanding from prior threads:
remove the 60 amp fuse and disengage switch in boot. replace air bags with springs and shocks.
There was something about special mounting plates, which I'm not sure about. What are they and where might I purchase these.
I just want the car to be trouble free of suspension issues, which unfortunately has been the only real problem. Last year I replaced both front air bags, but I don't see the financial logic in continuing with rears, and of course that's not taking into account the possibility of other issues in the future with the air sus setup.
So, I think it might be time for springs.
Interested to hear on who you may have purchased from etc and what parts were needed.
Thanks

Chris, I also swapped from airbags to Supra Bilsteins early this year and cost me about $1200 for struts + springs + 2nd hand JZA80 top hats + new spring locators / dust boots from Toyota + wheel alignment. Did the replacement work myself so probably saved some labour cost there. Unfortunately, the springs I fitted are too low and I'm really wishing I had gone for the standard height springs.

Were the springs part of the Bilstein package ?
No, Chris. I ordered JZA80 lowered springs from Kings. The standard height springs ride about 30 - 35mm higher so I am considering swapping to a set of those at the moment.

I've also changed from airbags to Bilsteins, but with trd springs. My airbags were soft, hence the change. There are two fuses needed to be removed, like others have said. Like Daniel Lee has said the car is handling better, and sitting lower, however the ride is a little harder.
