A couple of weeks ago I got my mechanic to fit a set of king lowered springs (low version) on my TT.

When I'm driving around by myself the ride quality is very enjoyable; springs are stiffer, as expected which I like. However, when there are a couple of passengers in the car it can be embarassing. The ride is very bumpy and results in poor ride quality.

Is this normal. I hope not, because I would like good ride quality with and without passengers. Right now I'm sitting on 17s, and I do need a wheel alignment (I know this doesn't help). I will be getting some 18s very soon, so i'll do a wheel alignment then.

In short, ride quality is good by myself and is poor with passengers. Is this solely a result of poor wheel alignment, or do you think some thing else my be wrong.
Car was perfect either way before lowering.

Any thoughts would be appreciated

I don't know, I bought the car about a month ago.
That's a good idea, i'll probably replace them when I get the new wheels and wheel alignment

100% your just hitting your bumpstops when you have more passengers in the car.

There are a few tests if you dont beleive me.
A zip tie test around the shock is the easiest, only requires jacking the car up, and no other tools.

As far as fixes for your problem, there are none really.

Buy some new progressive bump stops for $120 and it will be slightly better, but it doesnt fix the actual issue, its just a band aid.

You next option is replace the springs with
A) Higher ones
B) Stiffer ones
C) Both of the above

Tein S tech springs are nearly double the actual spring rate, but they are progressive like stock and are still quite comfy.

that is my honest recommendation. They are about $290 a set which is like half retail.

PM me if you want details on a bumpstop test, as I am very confident thats your issue

Thanks for the info Dave. When I fit the new wheel set up, i'll probably PM you about how to do a bumpstop test.
