ive got some Maxxis MAV1 235/40/R18 on my car. when i bought it they were pretty much on the way out. because i never got to see these work when they were newer, i am wondering if these are good enough tires to use again, or should i go with some other ones? they are rated W, so the speed rating is pretty good, and they cost about 200 bucks a tire, which is also pretty good.

Hey Ali,
They are the same tyre I have on the rears. I find they are great for the price - no noticeable road noise, good traction too.
I suppose it depends on what you plan to do - just daily drive they would be fine, but track days or drags or something - probably need a better tyre.
I hope to get my right rear replaced on Saturday - for free - considering I went to a different place to get an alignment - and they got it spot on with a substantial difference in the visual angle of camber. Hopefully they last longer than 5 months this time!

i have these all around, 265 rear 235 front on 18s, i find them a great tyre, done about 5K on them and no noticible wear yet. Great grip, found them nearly impossible to spin up, and thats with a manual HAHA.
They have broken in now and settled down, and i couldnt be happier

i went in wanting Z1 victra tyres, but due to the fact they didnt make 265/35RZ18 tyres, i resorted to buying the V1s, later to find out that they are listed on there website , so the tyre shop told porkies to me.
Not that happy with that, but they are great tyres for the price, even if they are not the Z1s

Bob Jane doesn't bring in every Maxxis tyre they make, only whats popular.
I wanted 235/45/17 on the front and 255/40/17 on the rear, but had to settle on 235/45/17 all round as they didn't bring the 255/40/17 into the country.
