Hey guys I am looking at getting some new wheels but I want to put my new supra 4 pots on my car so as the title says what offset would I need? Who has these brakes and what off set are you running? I am looking at some 18 inch wheels with probably 8.5 inch wide front's. Any help is greatly appreciated.

James, I have been thinking about this. After Cihans aborted (?) group buy and seeing the cardboard template that company had, you could make up a template of your brakes fitted and then use it to check wheels in the shop.

Ben, its still EOI and although the interest is there i believe there are bound to be quality issues based on recent talks and further review into their manufacturing process.
I'm personally looking into other avenues, most likely Supra 4 pots.

Given that the standard offset for a Soarer is 50mm, a 35mm offset appears to be illegal in that it will increase total track by more than the legal limit of 25mm.

Yes, I was talking to Matt, James, hence my reference to Qld law. Ali is right (here). +38 is 12 mm less than 50 mm. Do that on each side and you have 24 mm, hence meeting the legal limit of 25 mm.
+35 is 15 mm out hence 30 mm track change, outside the 25 mm limit.

Dave here in QLD its 26mm so its still out of the limits but until i looked it up just now i was under the impression it was legal unless the tyre's were outside the guards. but that said how many people have cars that are defect able i mean mine is nearly stock and there are still probable 3 or 4 items that i could get done on.

Out side the guards is a second way of being illegal. The third is 15mm change in total diameter of the wheel/tyre combination. That one used to be 3% and the new standard is slightly more restrictive.

James, I've been looking for something else to fit over 4 pot Celsiors. I must say there doesn't seem to be a lot out there in the 50-40 offset, with dish. Most of the wheels I've looked are around 36 offset.

The suspension design and tyres have to match. Incorrect offset affects things in the steering geometry, and puts more strain on suspension components and joints increasing likelihood of failure on the road. Bump steer or tramlining are common on lower offsets and an example of the effects.
Consider a corner with a small ripple in it. Will you go through it faster and more safely if you are more likely to lose traction on hitting the ripple? No, but god your tyres will look phat as you skid off into a tree

haha man it is seriously so hard to find 38+ offset which actually clear the 4pots as Evan pointed out..one of the main reasons i dont have celsior brakes

I run +35 with 15mm spacers on the front to clear celsior brakes. It's all about the design of the wheel imo. You can look for wheels on supra forums that guys with the big brake models are running, and go for a set of them. That should pretty much guarantee it will clear.

Vinh is right, some of these RAYs wheels are stunning, and alot of them clear big brembo brakes too! Vinh, how do you go about getting a set of these rims?
Prices have gone up dramatically from the last time I was on there though. I personally got mine through an ex trader of this forum who I believe is forbidden to be mentioned. So PM for more information.
Have a read at the bottom of the page - they will note whether the "A Offset" wheels will clear the Supra big brakes or not. You'll have to put up with the dodgy Engrish though as they probably had it translated from the original RAYS website.
