Hi,

The mechanic next door to my place take the Power steering pump out for rebuild, after he fitted the re-conditioned one in and done the bleeding, he used a can degreaser to spray the area at the power steering reservoir and he told me that area caught fire (because the engine is hot after a test drive). Do you think is this possible?
Anyway the front driver suspension is now sagging to the lowest point, I can hear the compressor is working and there is NO alarm or warning when I start up the car.
Can someone please let me know is there any electrical connector or wiring related to the air suspension near that area? Can the airbag be replaced? I saw the airline connected to the suspension, can this line be removed to check if it is leaking? How can you check a leaking airbag? Any electrical or mechanical component near that burned area need to check?
Your help is greatly appreciated

If he caused the problem, go back to him, and get him to fix it. And for nothing!!

Or go to your insurance company and let them chase him.

Hi I'm afraid I can't help you Jonathan, because I need help myself.
I own a great V8 and yesterday the front left suspension deflated.
I live in Darwin and there are not too many Soarers here.
My mechanic would appreciate any advise on repairing this leaky thing.it will sometimes pump up but leaks very quickly.
Can anyone help?
I love my Soarer, I've had it 2 years.Ive had Beemers, Alfas, even a 240Z, but my Soarer is by far the best.
Any help would be great.

Barry, but you probably need to replace the strut. Front left tends to go first apparently, so you might look for a pair of new ones, or s/h.

Once the air struts started leaking, there is no fix for it!

Either buy a new air strut from toyota or second hand.

New cost over $800+ each.

Ask yourself why you would put an 18 year old second hand strut in your car except maybe as a temporary measure. Just because the airbag is ok, the strut itself would still be pretty tired.

Thank you everyone, I think I will go for a new one.
It's great to have your help.
I recently replaced the lower arm bushes which I got from Andrew Vlamos which work well, also had the blinky dash repaired, all this info came from Planet Soarer.
Thanks again
