So yesterday i fitted a set of lowering springs to my car and now when i hit large dips/holes etc at speed or low speed on very rought dirt roads its like sitting in a pogo stick with doors!!!

I'm guessing i really need some heavier duty dampers? Can anyone recomend some to suit, prefeerably adjustable and where i can buy them?

Thanks

shouldnt do mate, ive got kings on my factory tems struts and its great, very firm :-)

Unless your struts are pretty much rooted, which it sounds like it as it would pogo if the struts are rooted due to no dampening

my car hasn't got tems, just normal shocks, i did test them as best you can by hand when i fitted the springs and there was no sign of leakage or any play, also took a decent bit of effort to pull up and down by hand.
They had tokico or something like that on them which i guess is standard?

i think tokico used to make aftermarket factory replacements for the factory struts. Dont think they are factory but would most likely be OEM standards

KYB, and Tokico both make standard shocks for Toyota.
I just put new KYB shocks in my UZZ30, and they are great.(standard springs)
Sounds like you need to replace shocks.

If the spring tension falls outside of the manufacturers specifications for the existing shocks, then yes, you will need a shock to match the spring or it will bounce, and cause highly dangerous/unpredictable handling.

The only problem you will see with lowered springs, and standard shocks is maybe bottoming out of the shocker if the spring lowers the vehicle too far.

If the shock is in good condition, it wont bounce.

Finally some ray of light on the forum.

Read my 2 posts on "why you shouldnt lower your car too much"

Measure your centre wheel to guard, and get back to me. Im not on here much anymore but you can try.

If you can is below 360 CWG front and 350 rear, you are hitting your bumpstops, ill put money on it.
