Otomoto must have updated their website

i was under the impression when i brought the TT the website said.

TT - F16 / R9 now it says F14 / R8
HR - F16 / R9

i asked for 18 / 10 (HR) thinking that i got 16 / 9 with the TT.

Supra now says.

JZA80 - F14 / R7 they were F18 / R10

Otomoto may have re-assessed their spring rates?

18/10 is seriously stiff and couldn't live with that.

From soarers I have driven around the 12kg front 8kg rear is near perfect.

Given what you have said is sounds like the shocks on the TT's are rubbish or you were running your car stupidly low, given the information about ride height above, they did look a little too low but I wouldn't have thought it would be a problem.

i know it looks good though.

yes i am aware that the wiring loom is under the guards. so i will be adjusting them next weekend before i go down the coast

I only went up and down my street a few times at that height and took some photos.

rolled it back into the shed and adjusted them up to standard tt height. The car sat there for a week on stands till i went down the coast.

my sister with standard height JZA80 supra has a lower wheel center to guard than i did when i had the TT's in.

Given even the HSD TT setup has stiffer than stock springs at stock height rubbing under the guards indicates the shocks are terrible or faulty.

18kg front and 10kg rear

Oooer! I can't remember my spring rates in my HSD HR but I am sure they aren't that stiff. I thought they were closer to 14kg/7or8kg

They don't seem that stiff, and my car is 200kg lighter then most stockers. Mine were the JZA 80 set as these were all that were available at the time(web site listed JZZ30 but the part number was the same as JZA80.

I have a set of JIC magic fronts in my junk pile. I have been meaning to take the springs off and get them measured to see if they might be useful down the track.

Ottomoto will include other spring rates if you ask, or they used to sell sets of alternate spring rates for a reasonable price ($100 pair)

I imagine 18kg springs would be pretty skittish on the road and track. You do see these sort of rates on a lot of Japanese aftermarket coilovers though. Not for the faint hearted I imagine.

awful if you have just had a large drink.. when money allows ill probably get a set of these as they are still softer than mine. and have more height adjustment

"Seems that the TT series are developed on tt soarers and with the extra weight of the v8 (1660 1/3 tank when bluesliped) the 20 - 30% softer spring rate and the use of twin tube shocks were not upto dampening the bumps. (got some nice scrape marks under the front guards at standard tt height) "

I wrote a MASSIVE post regarding this, its not the brand, as ANY base height brand will do this, its just a gimmick for soarers, and gives you bad bottom outs, and some dangerous attributes
